Bernanke Hints At Possible Interest Rate Cut.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke hinted interest rates could be further cut to stimulate the flagging economy. Grant Miller Media obtained transcripts of Bernanke's speech hinting at the possible move:

"Oh you who...Guess who's thinking about cutting interest rates? (Bernanke winks at the Senate Finance Committee while pointing at himself) Uh huh, Uh huh...Hmmmmm...I wonder who could do something like that?? Hint! Hint! Well, gee...what do you know? The Federal Reserve Board can cut interest rates. How about that. And who's the Fed Chairman again? Oh that's right - I'm the Fed Chairman. Hmmmmm...I wonder if I'll cut interest rates. Maybe...Just maybe. (Bernanke bats his eyelashes at committee chairman Max Baucus and giggles). I bet you'd like that, wouldn't you, huh? Hmmmm...How does below the 2 percent benchmark fed funds rate for overnight bank loans sound? Like the sound of that? Well, we'll just see...I'm not promising anything...(Winks)...But maybe if you're nice...I'll have a big surprise for you cuties."
